RoseBlood by A.G. Howard

Standard

For “Phans” of Phantom of the Opera this discriminating and imaginative retelling is, simply put, phantasmagorical!

Anita Howard’s ability to retell one of the greatest tragic love stories of all is masterful. She’s already proven that she can modernize a beloved fairytale and give it new life with due respect in her Splintered series and this standalone is no exception.

The lyrical prose and romantic exposition of the original is mirrored beautifully in Howard’s narration which interchanges between Rune’s POV and a third-person narrative. The story is set in modern day France but has retained the gothic feel in the setting.

No spoilers. This supernatural mystery is romantic, suspenseful, and brilliant. The main theme of “Phantom” exists, but Howard has reimagined the story so interestingly that you will not be disappointed. And, once again, her cover artist, Nathalia Suellen, wields her magic on yet another gloriously beautiful cover.

Enjoy!
